MAINTENANCE REQUESTS


Level 1: Basic Maintenance

  1. Identify type of Web Maintenance required
    1. Text Update to current page
    2. Type change or correction
    3. Page to be posted
    4. Troubleshooting a problem with the site’s functionality (may be chargeable if it requires re-programming)
    5. Image Update to current page (chargeable, except the addition of images to the new building update page)
    6. New content to be formatted and added (chargeable)
    7. New functionality to be added to the site (chargeable)
    8. Interface, programming or design changes (chargeable)
  2. Identify the section, web site file name and images affected
  3. Describe change that needs to be made
  4. For Updates, provide content, in plain text format or web compatible image format (gif or jpeg). Indicate specifically whether content is to be added to the bottom of the page, or, to replace current text or image. If it is to replace current text provide text to be deleted, marked "to delete" and provide text to replace it marked "to replace". Make sure replacement text is of the same structure as text to be replaced. NOTE: if the structure of the content is different and the page has to be re-coded, then the replacement text will be considered ‘new content’ and will be charged accordingly.
  5. For type changes, provide text to be deleted, and or replaced
  6. For pages to be posted, provide:
    1. specific instructions as to where the file is to be posted
    2. a copy of the html file to be posted (NOTE: unless you instruct us otherwise pages marked to be posted will be posted as is, any errors, omissions or problems are the responsibility of the client. Checking and/or editing the files provided, can be done on request but will be chargeable)
    3. all related image files with the correct image reference in the file
    4. links to be added to current files and related information
  7. For troubleshooting, please provide the following:
    1. what the problem was
    2. where on the web site the problem occurs
    3. what browser (including version number) you were using
    4. what you were doing when the problem occurred
    5. what you were expecting to happen and what actually happened
    6. what, if any, error message you got
    7. indicate whether the error is reproducible. Note: if you cannot reproduce the error, then it is likely not a web site problem but a system or network problem. It is usually a good idea to shut the system off and then login again to the site and try again. You may find that problem has gone away.
